A answer of 75 words is necessary.
Transactional leadership is a style of management that is founded on the principle of transaction.
In order to fulfill short-term objectives, the transactional leader manages the organization’s daily operations, team performance, and standard compliance. They are preoccupied with the present and indifferent about the future. They monitor front-line operations to keep track of what has to be done for the company’s growth (Kabeyi,2018). A transactional leader ensures that staff are motivated by delivering rewards or incentives to maintain a continual flow of work. This type of leader is in charge of determining why a team’s output isn’t meeting expectations. Leaders assess performance, offer constructive feedback, think about methods to improve efficiency, and focus on structural strategies.
Vince Lombardi was a transactional leader who taught his team to defend many teams and won five championships (Ansary & Ansary, 2019). At my place of employment, there are some managers who motivate their staff, stick to short-term targets, maintain growth, track production improvements, and frequently provide rewards, resulting in long-term and successful employees.
Transformational leadership:
Transformational leaders think beyond day-to-day operations, devising new ways to introduce new ideas to the firm and implementing structural changes to assist employees. They motivate their followers to contribute their knowledge and be creative in order to help the organization achieve its objectives. Leaders provide employees with the necessary training and resources. They discuss ideas and make decisions in partnership with employees at all levels of the firm to ensure positive outcomes (Kabeyi,2018).
Netflix’s work culture was strengthened by Reed Hastings’ encouragement for employees to take on more responsibilities and ownership in order to help the company succeed. He reinterpreted a few internal procedures, such as travel policy revisions, time off flexibility, the elimination of formal reviews, and encouraging employees to take ownership of their innovative ideas, by combining transformational leadership with creative expertise (Goncalves, 2018).
Transactional vs. Transformational Leadership Styles
Both perspectives are beneficial to the company. The sort of business, whether small or large, as well as the organization’s goals and visions, as well as its operational structure, all influence its effectiveness. Transactional style is beneficial to manufacturing enterprises, but transformational style is beneficial to organizations that require innovation, such as Amazon. When it comes to a larger corporation, innovation is always the driving force for success and differentiation, while also keeping track of daily operations to stay in the game.
