OVERVIEW
The Interpersonal Communication Plan is designed to demonstrate course-related knowledge, a dedication to establishing and maintaining healthy, healing, and helping relationships, and the capacity to communicate effectively both vocally and nonverbally. You’ll create a strategic plan and a 910 minute video presentation of yourself presenting it. You’ll also make a PowerPoint presentation outlining your main points and sources.
INSTRUCTIONS
Throughout your presentation, you must combine all compulsory course readings as well as two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last 10 years in a relevant, effective, and substantial way. Oral and in-text attribution to sources, such as author and year, is required. Self-reflection, critical thinking, comprehension of course concepts, and synthesis of course readings are all anticipated. Given the time constraints, each main point must be sufficiently developed. The primary themes must be logically related throughout, with efficient transitions and a flow of ideas. All content must be customized and applied. The video will be uploaded to YouTube, and a link to the video will be included in the PowerPoint presentation. The following sections/main points must be included in your presentation:
1. Introduction: Make an engaging and informative introduction to your strategic communication plan.
Mention your name and the recording date (very crucial!). Define interpersonal communication in a way that draws your audience’s attention (i.e., your instructor) to the major point of your strategy. Give a quick overview of the main elements of the presentation.
2. Background and behavioral blend:
Briefly describe your behavioral mix as identified in your Uniquely You profile, stressing how it affects your communication and interpersonal relationships. Also, discuss how your background and identity, both positively and adversely, influences your communication patterns. This part sets the stage for knowing you as a communicator, as well as the problems and possibilities you’ve encountered.
3. Barriers to communication:
Identify and discuss the most significant interpersonal communication difficulties and issues you’ve encountered during this course. Define, explain, and demonstrate how these are currently preventing you from succeeding and negatively impacting your relationships.
4. Objectives and strategies:
Make a goal that you want to achieve by following this plan. This objective should be stated in a single phrase and should not be too wide (e.g., “become a counselor”) or too ambiguous (e.g., “improve my communication”). Explain why you think this aim is vital in your life and/or work. Then reveal solutions for achieving this aim and overcoming the previously mentioned obstacles. If your goal is to become a more empathic communicator at work, for example, developing active listening and reflecting skills may be appropriate tactics. If you want to effectively mentor adolescents in your community, you’ll need to master proper levels of assertiveness, authenticity, and self-disclosure.
5. Implementation: Create precise action actions for putting the previous methods into practice.

Techniques you will practice, thoughts you will constantly dwell on, things you will do differently, and so on are examples of actions. 6. Final thoughts:
Recap the main themes of your strategic interpersonal communication plan in a few sentences and close with a memorable statement or quote.
The video should be high enough quality for a professional setting and show you speaking, preferably from the waist up. The movie must not include any of your PowerPoint slides. Audience involvement, articulation, suitable language, tone, the absence of vocal fillers, eye contact, posture, and movement are all important aspects of your performance. You may not be able to upload your video file if your presentation is longer than 10 minutes.
