See attached the assignment, You are required to write a speech based on the concept attached to represent the slides. I am attaching the concept the slides for your review. ADD THE INFO FOR THE SLIDES THAT ARE BLANK YET. WE CHOOSE CONCEPT TWO SO THE INFO SHOULD BE BASED ON CONCEPT 2 AND NEED THE MATERIAL TO TALK ABOUT THE SLIDES.
Each group is a theatre company seeking funding ($) to produce an original theatre concept of the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Obviously this is not real, but let’s pretend for the sake of the assignment.
-You are to create an original directorial/theatre production concept for the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Choose a concept idea (your best) from your “Three Concepts” assignment!
-You should create a name for your theatre company.
-You should create an estimated budget (estimated cost) to mount your production. Do some research. Include 8-10 line items or more. This should be included in presentation slides and/or verbalized, but it should also be included in the Project Report.
-You are to present your concept via video with audio OR slides with audio. THERE MUST BE AUDIO. Each presentation must be at least 8-10 minutes in length but no more than 14 minutes. Give sufficient examples of your concept points using the tips below:
-Use images that you create yourselves or borrow examples/samples from the internet (at least 3 per point below, but 5+ is better).
-Give plenty of verbal description for each point below.
-You may use short audio or video clips (optional) that you find online and/or show items (flyers, props, costumes, etc.) you create yourselves to help describe your concept.
Your concept presentation must include all of the following (in no particular order) and describe in detail:
1. A description of the concept as a whole and how elements 2-11 work together. THIS IS NOT AN ADAPTION OF A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, BUT RATHER AN ORIGINAL CONCEPT OF THE EXISTING PLAY AS IT WAS WRITTEN.
2. The time period/era and setting/location: Describe it in detail showing examples and/or “comps” (films, books, shows, plays, etc. that are similar).
3. The tone of the production (silly, fantastic, dark, sad, comic, sarcastic, sad, cheerful, etc.). Tone is the attitude toward the subject and characters. Describe and show your concept’s tone.
4. The central image: This is something the audience would see prominently onstage in key moments of the performances. For example, in the Broadway musical The Lion King, Pride Rock is the central image. Describe yours and show examples. It could be something you would use in your advertising.
5. The main themes (such as love, class/status, gender, transformation, dreams, etc.). Choose your own, don’t just use these. Describe them in detail.
6. Color palette: Choose 3 to 4 colors that the designers will use in the lighting, costumes, scenery and advertising. Describe them in detail giving specific examples.
7. Costume ideas for at least two characters in the play. Describe in detail giving specific examples.
8. Prop list: Describe three major props in the play and tell us why you chose these items? Note: Props may be different in a historical concept versus a contemporary or futuristic concept.
9. Show at least one set design plan: Describe in detail giving specific examples. And tell us why you chose this?
10. What type of theatre space (stage/theatre) is desired for your concept? And tell us why you chose this?
11. Are there any special or unique aspects of your concept? Such as an all female/male cast, use of live animals, performed at night, nudity, etc. If so, describe it/them in detail and give examples.

SOME RULES TO REMEMBER FOR YOUR CONCEPT:
* You cannot change the story or title of the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
* You cannot change the character names in the play! The only exception is if you plan to use a language other than English and/or if the culture requires it. (For example: Demetrius could be “Dimitri” if your concept is Russian or takes place in Russia). You must ask me before changing anything.
* You cannot change the dialogue that is written in the play! (It is optional to include any in your presentation).
*Each group member must submit a one page Project Report as a PDF which will include the theatre company name, the group members’ names, your estimated budget with lines items, and a brief description of the elements you describe in your presentation. Then submit it here! All group members must submit a Project Report and each group may submit the same document! *REMEMBER: PASTE YOUR GROUP PRESENTATION’S YOUTUBE LINK IN THE PROJECT REPORT!*
*THIS IS NOT AN ADAPTION OF A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, BUT RATHER AN ORIGINAL CONCEPT OF THE EXISTING PLAY AS IT WAS WRITTEN.
You CAN present an old play like this and set it in a different time and place! Theatre companies around the world do this regularly!
