We will practice steps in Evidence-Based Practice for this assignment. 1) You’ll come up with a practice problem. 2) After that, you do a literature evaluation of the existing research. 3) You’ll assess the evidence to decide which intervention to implement. 4) You’ll think about the values of your clients as well as your clinical experience. 5) Consider what you want the client to get out of this intervention (e.g., decreased sadness, improved quality of life, reduced PTSD symptoms) and how you’ll track that progress.
To get ready, do the following:
Select a population that interests you.
Children
Select a presenting issue (homelessness) that is relevant to the target group.
Conduct a literature review that focuses on the presenting issue within the target audience.
By the seventh day,
Submit an 8- to 10-page research paper with a minimum of six references from peer-reviewed journals. You should include the following in your paper:
Give a brief description of the population and problem you’re focused on for this assignment.
Provide a summary of the articles you read for this project, as well as an explanation of what you learned.
When addressing this topic, briefly discuss at least two evidence-based solutions currently in use for your chosen group. When explaining the evidence for the interventions, include references.
Explain why you would pick one of these interventions over the others.
Consider the client’s values as well as your therapeutic knowledge when deciding which intervention to apply.
Describe how you would use the chosen intervention’s specific skills and strategies.
Explain briefly how you plan to evaluate the intervention’s results.
Explain any cultural issues you’ll need to keep in mind when working with this community or the specific issue at hand.
Examine how the Code of Ethics applies to this particular presenting situation and demographic.
Explain how you would work with this population using a trauma-informed lens.
Make precise references to the resources in your Final Project. Make sure your references have complete APA citations.
The Final Project will be graded using the Rubric for the Final Project, which may be found below and in the Course Information section.
