a. Select an organization for paper 4 (be sure its an organization that has been in business for at least 10 years). Make sure you choose an organization that will provide information to address core courses in the program, i.e., access to financials, demonstrates marketing strategies, etc. Provide a brief summary about your organization and why you selected it.
b. Determine your organizations industry then review Porters five forces model and PESTLE analysis. Briefly provide a brief overview of how one or both of these analyses are useful in analyzing the organization you selected.
– Your selected organization does not have to be in business of ‘at least 10 years’. It can be a newer company but you want to make sure that it has been in existence long enough to provide you with enough information to analyze.
– Keep in mind that a publicly traded company is eminently easier to research, especially compared to non-profit organizations. However, if you decide to select a non-profit organization (not previously used by you for other courses), you may want to make sure that you can access a reasonable amount of information (e.g. financials, organizational structure, etc.).You can also select a company that you know well such as a former or current employer. If this is the case, please do not disclose any information that the company deems to be confidential.

a. For my Paper I will choose to research Walmart, Inc. Walmart Inc. (WMT) operates a worldwide network of retail stores as well as an e-commerce business. The company is known for its “everyday low prices” strategy in selling a wide variety of merchandise, including home goods, apparel, electronics, food, and more.
b. Porter’s 5 Forces examines the five forces that make a company competitive while helping identify its strengths and weaknesses, and Walmart definitely has a competitive advantage because of the products and services they offer. PESTLE is an analytical tool that identifies how various factors may affect an organization and its competitive standing. Porter’s 5 Forces identifies competition, new entrants into the industry, supplier power, buyer power, and the threat of substitute products and services in the market. PESTLE examines political, economic, sociocultural, technological, legal, and environmental/ethical factors. PESTLE analysis allows managers, marketing, and financial experts to examine specific factors (outside of money) when making decisions about the company’s services or products. In a way, both these analyses help to identify what is known as the SWOT analysis which is the makeup of most organizational strategies.Hall, M. (2021).
