In order to help him decide whether or not to visit the patient, the on-call physician asks the intake staff, “What is the patient’s source of payment?” The physician then rejects to visit the patient due to the patient’s lack of insurance.
2nd scenario
In a health care facility, a patient is admitted to the medical floor. She is perplexed and refuses to sleep on her bed. The patient is moved to a room at the far end of the hall, away from the nurses’ station, where she is hidden from view. The patient continues to get out of bed without using her call light, falling and injuring herself.
