Part 1
For the first portion of your Signature Assignment, you will reflect on your progress as a graduate student in psychology. This is a self-assessment reflection and may be based on your work and feedback in this course.
Assess your understanding of course concepts by focusing on the following areas:
Your vision and professional aspirations.
Visioning how life will be after grade school is difficult because the support needed to give me that demanding push is not always available. Conversing with friends can be a task due to the brutal beating the was taking. Friands dont hold be expressions physically or mentally. The vision I had was making my parents and grandparents proud. Highlighting life of a level that is never forgotten. The picture painted and presented is for the word famous. Famous is average. I am famous in my own life and those aspirations come from lusting fame. That fame motivates me to mentor the younger generation and reminding the older generation that times are evolving with or without being psychologically prepared. Time is needed to continue that mark needed by those lost souls so I also envision having a business that can be passed along to my offspring. Lets be honest. Offspring are the pride and joy. I want her to know the jack of all trades expands on variety to understand the vision and practice evolving. The effectiveness of your personal time management.
Time management is a struggle. Family is the biggest distraction. Distractions are what I build on to become stronger mentally. Those are my firsthand experiences and enjoy overcoming them. My family doesnt realize that even the wise man needs to be uplifted. Struggles are not voided. They are scares that remind me of the beating I take everyday before I lay down and wake to get on step closer towards my goals. Work is a distraction but not as much as I expected it to. I find myself going off to places where I cannot be found and concentrate on my schoolwork. My mind believe that the distractions can be used to my advantage. Within the 24 hours I must be all mighty, being positive about the situation keeps be alert and free.Your level of information literacy/research skills.
This question was interesting because thinking of my skill level never came to mind. My state hasnt been pushed by teachers since grade school. That was over 10 years ago. The appreciating for the stimulation is a powerful thank you. My level of researching is an intermediate level. I understand the concept and gasp the need for digging deeper only when necessary or mind wonders. I find myself diving into the ocean searching for a pond. The level of my literacy skills effects the research at times because knowing the grade school to collegiate level is all I thought of. I find myself researching my research to get different understanding and having a clear view of the task at hand. On the other hand, it is advanced because researching is a difficult task within itself.Your ability to make logical, persuasive arguments about course and discipline concepts and ideas. In other words, focus on your ability to apply critical thinking skills.
To make logical decision I must be logical. My knowledge expands beyond the basic measure to persuade one to believe in what is needed. Facts are important to present when persuading the opponent to believe or understand the words Im speaking on, Critical is my middle name when it comes to getting others to adhere to words from my mouth. I know how to break things down when I am explaining or presenting the scenario at hand. My self confidence is how I overcome my nervousness.Your consistency and comfort in applying proper APA formatting.
Applying APA format was an important part of my assignment. It was confusing a little and needs more work, but I complied for the basics of the assignments. Its not easy to remember so I tend to reference the format a lot just so I can give myself that security, Im using the format.Your ability to use effective communications.
I struggled at first but once my brain wave clicked, I was able to effectively communicate with my teacher. I reached out to my advisor when I started struggling horribly. Thats when I reach out to get clearer understandings of the assignments. I still became very nervous and started questioning my understanding ability. Improving my communication skills was executed towards the closing of the class end date. The level and consistency of your professionalism.
My work and effort are a representation of me. My professionalism is something I pride on. Progressing is something I work on every day. Becoming better and executing my actions is what I hold myself to do everyday if I can. What are three of your most valuable strengths as a graduate student that will help you to succeed in your program?
