Description / paper instructions
1a) Compare and contrast land based and offshore wind power plants. Ensure that you cover the advantages and disadvantages of each.
The next stage is to organize your research into 3 coherent sub-topics that effectively answer the questions I have posed about your topic. Each sub-topic needs to have a short title – something which would interest a reader who was looking at a bunch of Story Maps, enticing them to stop and look further into the topic. Each subtopic needs to have a main idea and include research from your peer reviewed journals to support that main idea. So for instance if I were making a Story Map about Indian elephants I might make sub-topics about: 1. Biology of Indian elephants 2. Habitat of Indian elephants 3. How are Indian elephants different from Asian elephants? (Clearly this is not an Earth science example suitable for our course, but rather is used to illustrate the point of sub-topics). Please keep in mind that at least 2 of your 3 sub-topics must be scientific in nature (ex. Earth science and/or environmental science and/or geology and/or ecology – only 1 of the sub-topics can be of a social science nature). Add an introduction that puts your work in context in the larger scheme of things, and a conclusion/next steps section. Please, please, please add your name and just the last three digits of your student number to either the header or to the top of the first page. This stage involves conducting academic research into your chosen topic. We do this using PEER REVIEWED/SCHOLARY journals. Indeed, in order to pass this assignment and obtain JUST a D- (maximum) you need to actually use 6 peer reviewed/scholarly journal sources. To have any possible chance at obtaining a mark greater than a D-, you must use more than 6 of them. We suggest at least 3 per sub-topic, so you are aiming for actually using about 9 peer reviewed/scholarly journals. Perhaps you have used these before and know how to find them, great! Perhaps not, don’t worry! We are here to help you. The sources you used have to be peer-reviewed!!!!! THANKS!!! let me know if you need any additional sources. Here are four sources that you can use: Bonou, A., Laurent, A., & Olsen, S. I. (2016). Life cycle assessment of onshore and offshore wind energy-from theory to application.
