Essay 3 Prompt and Information This will be an essay in which you propose a solution to the problem of how to safely resume in-person classes on the College campus. To do this, your essay should accomplish all of the following tasks: Identify what the problems with holding in-person classes during a pandemic are.
Identify possible solutions for each problem, then use research to decide which solution is the best (hint: look at what other academic institutions here in the U.S. and abroad have done, and use the most successful strategies as a starting point for crafting your own solution). Include a rebuttal that addresses opposing claims (i.e., people who would argue your solution isn’t viable), using evidence to refute the claim, concede to the claim, or a combination of both.
Your essay must be at least 1500 words long, not including your works cited page, and must follow MLA formatting guidelines (Links to an external site.). Your essay must include direct quotes and information from at least 3 sources from the Cerritos College Database and have a works cited page and corresponding in-text citations, citing any sources you consulted and quoted. How to submit your completed essay Once you have completed your essay, you will submit it through turnitin.com. (Links to an external site.)
Your essays will be graded and commented on in turnitin.com. You will find a folder in our class’ homepage called “Essay 3” Submit your essay to this folder only. You should select the “Single File Upload” option, then select the document you want to upload. You will have an opportunity to review the document before you submit it. Please take that opportunity to make sure that you are submitting the correct version of your essay, and that everything looks right before you hit submit. Once you submit your essay, you will receive confirmation that it has been successfully uploaded. If you don’t get confirmation, submit your essay again until you do.
You will be able to resubmit as many times as you want before the submission deadline. Due Date Your final essay must be submitted by 11:59 PM on Sunday, April 18. If you miss the on time submission deadline, you will have until Wednesday, April 21 at 11:59 PM to submit your essay for half credit. I will not accept any submissions for credit after April 21. The answer is complete. 50 points: The essay illustrates exemplary understanding of the relevant material by thoroughly and correctly addressing the relevant content; identifying and explaining all of the key concepts/ideas; using correct terminology explaining the reasoning behind key points/claims and substantiating, as necessary/useful, points with several accurate and illuminating examples. No aspects of the required answer are missing. Use of Sources (worth a maximum of 20% of the total points). Zero points: Student failed to include citations and/or references. Or the student failed to submit a final paper. 5 out 20 points: Sources are seldom cited to support statements and/or format of citations are not recognizable as APA 6th Edition format. There are major errors in the formation of the references and citations. And/or there is a major reliance on highly questionable.
