Business Management – Alternative Assignment June 2030 – Deadline 12th
June by 12 Noon.
You are currently applying for an internship of an organisation/company of your
choosing.
As part of the recruitment and application process, you have been requested to
submit a company/organisation profile document on the organisation/ company that
you have chosen. This profile document demonstrates your understanding of that
company in light of current business management concepts, theories and models
and the application of these concepts, theories and models internally by your chosen
organisation.
You will be required to include the following in the profile document.
- An introduction to the company/organisation. (Please provide me with their
official website address).
- Identify which one of Henry Mintzberg’s organisational structures the
organisation follows. Please demonstrate and provide evidence as to why
you have identified this particular Mintzberg structure. Use the company’s
organisational structure and the key characteristics of the chosen
Mintzberg structure to do so.
- Identify the organisation’s strategic objectives; please state a given
timeframe for these objectives. You can ascertain this information from an
organisation’s annual reports or website.
- Identify and provide evidence of how the organisation motivates its
employees. What is the culture of motivation? Is it intrinsic or extrinsic?
Give evidence from your research into the company/organisation to
support your opinion. How are employees incentivised to work? Please
support this with evidence from their Human Resource Management
strategy documents, annual reports, online interviews etc. Please identify
which theory of motivation (discussed in the textbook or lectures) the
company/organisation most closely follows. Again, provide evidence from
your research to support your opinion.
- To conclude, please present a concise SWOT analysis of this company/
organisation. I require at least 2 examples for each of the components of
the SWOT. Please make sure that you include at least one operations
management component within your SWOT analysis. (You will need to
make sure that you provide evidence and supporting material for your
analysis and that it is properly cited).
Please provide a reference list of all of your sources at the end of your
document.

For each of the above elements of your profile, you need to provide evidence and
examples from credible sources. Academic books and journals are the preference
for the business management theories; however, you may find that much of your
information is taken from websites, company reports and interviews for the
application to your chosen organisation. Remember please make sure that you use
the correct APA citation style for the chosen medium of information. Remember not
to cite my slides!
Please also feel free to customise your report and to make it more interesting to the
reader. You can use graphics, logos and different formats. If you can reflect the
culture of the company with how you present the information, then please do.
Remember, though, this is a business document, and the content and style are the
most important elements; the writing and presentation should reflect that. You are
also in competition for a position, so please make sure you fully answer all
components, provide examples and evidence of your findings and research, and cite
in the correct APA style.
