Ways in which the basic concept of the FAR Policy would mutually benefit the small business and the Navy
According to the laid down FAR policy, all contracts to be given out to different companies are supposed to be full and open to competition. This gives small businesses an opportunity to freely and independently to be part of the competition and allow them to try their luck on the contract. In such a situation, businesses that are able to meet the laid down requirements of the contract are likely to win and thus be given the contract (Goffee & Scase, 2015). Most of the contracts given by the government are highly paying and thus the company given the contract is able to return almost 100% of its profits. For a small business, when given a contract by the government, it will be able to get extra funds and thus be able to expand its reach. Despite the small businesses being expanded, they will be able to improve and have a good public image to the citizens of the country. The Navy on the other hand will have an opportunity and the freedom to choose from the different kinds of businesses presented whether small or large that will enable them to acquire the best services because the selection is usually done freely and fairly. According to the choices made, while the company chosen is able to get a good pay, the navy on this other side will be able to obtain good and quality services.
According to the 16th part of the FAR policy, the selection of an appropriate type of contract, a small business is able to get a chance to be able to offer its quality services. The policy laid down enables the small businesses to easily get the available contract without any corruption while on the other side the agency makes sure that the Navy is able to get the best services from the chosen small business (Lewis, 2015).
Method to be used for solicitation of a bid and why the Navy is likely to choose my company in the sealed-bidding process
This calls for the attention of the managers and the stakeholders to ensure that the business has proper plans because planning is the key to any business becoming a success. For any small business to be able to win a contract and work with the navy comfortably, planning is important. Planning enables will enable the business to evolve around a proper analysis of its strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. This will give our business a clear picture on how to exploit our strengths and thoroughly work on improving our weaknesses. When this is properly done, the Navy would not regret choosing our company (Williams, 2016).
The provision and giving of the best services however small our company may be, this does not matter. The provisions of the services are the one that would make our company to be the most preferred for the contract. The quality of our products and services matters a lot in this case that is why as a company we tried as much as possible to work on that to be able to outdo our competitors.
When negotiating for the contract it is good for the company to ensure that all the procedures to be involved in the negotiations are followed to the latter to ensure that they secure the contract on the required policies that deals with matters concerning the business and the contract. It is appropriate to avoid in one way or another corruption or faking the products and services offered. When the manager is able to ensure this, the company might end up even securing more than one contract and thus the expansion of the business and in the end they will be able to secure enough profits.
