YZ screens had been using an integrated information system to manage movie ticket sales and online seat reservation for all the cinemas that it owns. The staff from various department in YZ Screens Sdn. Bhd’s headquarter’s in kuala lumpur use the information system for payroll processing, monthly financial report and others. All the user desktops in YZ Screens cinemas are linked to the main server located in the headquarters via wide area network (WAN).
YZ screen’s plan to install an Executive Information System (ESI) or also known as Executive Support System (ESS) and link it to their current information system. Them management of YZ screens wants to use EIS to help them in their planning Activities, YZ Screens are planning to buy the ESI application from a software vendor. In order to convince the board of directors, the management of YZ Screens had requested one of the IT managers to prepare a proposal report on how the EIS can enhance managerial decision making in their key business functions. The management also plans to set up a department headed by this IT manager to handle the EIS once it had been implemented.
