WBS Using Principles of Project Scheduling and Budgeting
Please use the project from Assignment 1 to complete this assignment, which requires that you provide the necessary scope for your project.
A project scope includes many variables. The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) must be defined prior to the start of the project to ensure that all of the details are planned.
Write an eight to ten (8-10) page project charter in which you:
Define the project including the vision, objectives, and scope of the project.
Determine the customers who will use the deliverables produced from the project.
Specify the key stakeholders for this project.
Determine the role and responsibilities of each project team resource. Include the scheduling duration for each resource.
Graphically depict the project organizational structure. Note: Include a screenshot of the image file to show your work.
Create a WBS using principles of project scheduling and budgeting through the use of Excel spreadsheet, Word table, or other similar project-specific software. Next, develop the cost and time estimates and allocate resources where applicable.
Determine the major project milestones and the required delivery dates. Analyze why each milestone is solely critical to the project.
Document the main dependencies, risks, issues, and assumptions of the project. Select the top three (3) most important risks of the project planning and project management process. Suggest strategies to mitigate those risks.
Summarize the project budget approved by the project sponsor.
Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:
Develop a project plan including the critical elements of project scope, priorities, WBS, and communication plan.
Formulate a WBS using principles of project scheduling and budgeting, and develop cost and time estimates and allocate resources.
Apply the concepts of risk mitigation to the project planning and project management process.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in project management.
Write clearly and concisely about project management using proper writing mechanics.
The U.S. health care delivery system is often described as a kaleidoscope, puzzle, or patchwork quilt—descriptions that emphasize the fact that health care delivery in this country involves multiple, loosely coordinated components, and does not function through one integrated system. The organization and structure of this “system” have a tremendous impact on the delivery of services. As such, health care professionals, consumers, advocates, and policy makers face tough choices with regard to health care costs, quality, and access.
To prepare for this Application Assignment:
Consider how the structure and organization of the U.S. health care system affects delivery of services.
Reflect on the interrelationships between and among health care costs, quality, and access in this country.
Bring to mind a specific example that illustrates potential trade-offs.
To complete this Application Assignment, write a 1- to 2-page paper that addresses a specific situation or issue that illustrates the trade-offs involved in decisions related to cost, quality, and access. Be sure that your paper includes answers to the following questions:
How could current and future efforts to contain costs affect quality and access?
How might measures to ensure the provision of high-quality care influence costs and accessibility?
How could efforts to promote universal access to care impact cost and quality?
How can the structure and organization of the U.S. health care delivery system bring about or impact cost, quality, and access to health care.
Be sure to support your work with specific citations from this week’s Learning Resources and additional scholarly sources as appropriate. Refer to the Essential Guide to APA Style for Walden Students to ensure that your in-text citations and reference list are correct.
