Toyota Company
Introduction
Toyota company is one of the largest automobile companies in the whole world. Over 50 years Toyota has been ruling the automotive industry due to the cheap and readily available motor vehicles that they produce every year. The company was founded in 1937 in Japan and currently has outlets in over 170 countries worldwide. The company has been facing competition from old automobile companies like Ford and Tesla but it has stood the test of time by understanding the need of the consumers and in return has been producing what the clients neede and delivering them at the place that they are needed. Toyota has embraced the change in technology and has used it to its advantage and the most important thing that they did to ensure that they remain at the top of the automobile industry is embracing the green vehicles.according to Thompson,(2015), most of the competitors like Ford have been on the wrong side of the law by not adhering to the environmental issues while producing this vehicle. The major thing that has led to the company to being at the top for a long time is quality, longevity, engineering as well as the value they offer for their consumers.
Problems at the organization
Despite being at the top of the automobile industry the organization is currently facing serious problems and has registered a drop in the sale of the vehicle as well as the total revenue that the organization has been getting. Most of the trusted consumers are leaving the organization for their competitors and their vehicles are not the favorite anymore in the market. This has led to a loss of consumers confidence as well as loss of their major investors. This lead to a decrease in the total revenues that the organization made in the year 2016 despite remaining at the top of the ranking. This problem has been a disturbing and it led to a research to actually establish the major reason behind the decrease in sales as well as the total decrease in the overall revenue that the organization is getting. It was produced to conduct this research to ensure that the organization does not end up in the same state that it was in 1950 where it dropped in performance as wells as in the revenues that they make (Rowland, 2015).
Reseach variable
The major reason for the research was to establish the factors that have to lead to the loss of confidence and trust by both consumers as well as the investors and at the same time, it tried to establish the reason for the sales are decreasing as it did in the last two years. Those variables intended to furnish the organization with an indication on issues they should deliver to increase the confidence of the investors, and the trust of consumers to expand the client base and interest for the organization administrations. Also, the issues recognized are helpful for the organization, particularly where arranging and drafting long-term strategic plans in regards to organization future. The fundamental research variable for this research is the consumers and investors reaction toward the new organization’s products and the decline in the revenue the organization has been making, the marketing system of the company, the mode of advertising the organization has been using as well as the perception that the consumers have towards the company. Additionally, the researchers likewise gather information on the quantity of clients utilizing the organization site and their inclination includes on the site and upgrades should be done as such as to enhance the proficiency of the site and offer consumer loyalty.
Data collection methods
In order to solve the following problems that Toyota organization is facing it was necessary to use the following data collection methods. Since the issue re affecting the clients as well as the investors the best method of data collection used is qualitative data collection method. This method is the most preferred since it will address the quality of products and services that are used. In order to get this information having to use the primary data will be the best and the methods involved include the use of survey as well as the use of interviews. This first method of data collection will give a clear picture of what the consumers and investors perception on how the organization is being managed and also possible solutions that they have towards the improvement of consumers satisfaction and production of better quality products.
Surveys
The survey can be conducted either on the web or just through getting to the field and collecting the information directly from the members involved in the survey. The online survey should offer a stage where the organization customers react to the researcher’s inquiries with respect to the nature of organization benefits and propose conceivable changes and make suggestions also for the organization to consider. The survey that is conducted online is really essential as it would encourage securing clients(respondents) criticism paying little respect to their physical area as the organization works globally(Bryman and Bell, 2015). In addition, scientists at field directing the review would be in a position to gather direct data which would be somewhat more dependable than an online study. Meeting the individual will help in identifying if an individual is lying due to the physical cues that they will display.
Interviews
The researcher may decide to have a face to face interview or just an interview from an online platform eg through radio call. When conducting the interview the major questions the researcher will as the interviewee is how what are the major reasons for the fall out with clients as wells as what are the major issues that lead the organization to its current state. The researcher will also enquire the possible solutions the interviewees could give to help the organization reach another level (Bryman, & Bell, 2015).
Research design- Quantitative research method
Quantitative research strategy, systems involve gathering information which is variable. The researcher should gather information on the number of individuals who utilize the organization administrations, how every now and again the client utilizes the organization site, client rating for the organization site (Bryman, & Bell, 2015). The quantitative techniques gather information in regards to the size of utilization and client base to contrast the organization and its rivals, for example, Ford, Tesla, General Motors Etc.
Verification and justification whether the collected data is reliable and valid:
When data is collected it is necessary to find out whether the data collected is really reliable and valid. In order to d this it requires that all the interviews are done face to face. In addition to face to face interviews, it is necessary to ask the same questions to several people. When the same question is asked too many people then it will be easy to get the individual lying. Fiannly it is also prudent to look for the individual who has been in business with the organization for quite some time and know all the affects the organization.
In addition to all this analyzing the data collected and coming up with the trends also plays a major role in validating and detecting the reliability of the data collected. The trends developed from the analysis should be realistic and at the same time indicate the current trend of the market. In this case, it was clear that most of the decline was due to the callbacks of the models made in 2010 resulting from weak and poorly installed airbags.
Analysis
Once the whole data is collected an analysis is supposed to be conducted. The SPSS or just the normal coding of the data will give meaning to the data collected. After analysis then the researcher should present the data using charts, graphs, case studies, From this analysis the researcher would come up with the best recommendation that the organization should use.
Conclusion
From the above reseach it clear that the major cause of disatisfaction by customers, and investors is the call backs that is considered the largest in the orginization that took place in 2010. Most of the vehicles were clalled back due to poorly fitted airbags as well as week bumbers. This made several people to fear the Toyota models just to avoid thier vehicle being called back.
