Purpose
The graded topics for this week are related to the following Course Outcomes (COs).
CO 1: Investigate the evidence-based sources that support professional nursing practice. (Number 7)
CO 2: Interpret the findings of published research studies using research principles. (Positions 4 and 8)
CO 4: Assess the legitimacy and clinical significance of published nursing research in relation to evidence-based practice. (Positions 4 and 8)
Discussion
To answer the questions, you must read the following article:
N. Baker, H. Taggart, A. Nivens, and P. Tillman (2015). Why are nurses perplexed by delirium? 15-22 in MedSurg Nursing, vol. 24, no. 1. a link to this page (Links to an external site.)
Look for the section on literature reviews. Summarize one of the study/literature findings in your own terms. Make a note of which study you’re summarizing.
Discuss how the author’s review of literature (studies) aided in the achievement of the study goal/problem. As you go through the literature review section, share something that piqued your curiosity.
Describe one technique you learned to help you do a thorough literature review and evidence search. Let us know what you think about the value of a thorough literature review.
