Do you recommend a more flexible process to promote lean? The wastes and TOC bottlenecks can be used to evaluate the existing process. The 5Ss can be part of your recommendations if they will improve the process. 6 Operations Improvement Improvements tend to be recommendations based on an evaluation of the current process (that you addressed in the analysis section). The two methodologies in this topic can be applied directly to the structure of the assignment supported with other relevant topic tools and techniques as necessary. (1) BPR has its own procedure to map the existing process (analysis) identify problems with the process (evaluation) and propose a re-engineered process (recommendation). (2) Six Sigma uses the DMAIC cycle to conduct improvement projects: Define and Measure are aligned with analysis, Analyse the evidence is aligned with evaluate, and Improve and Control are aligned with recommend.
