In Chapter 7, we look at and investigate a number of different business unit strategies. Low-cost, differentiation, and low-cost/differentiation are all discussed in this article.
The following is your task (please read it carefully): Find at least 5 great sources on low-cost, differentiation, and low-cost/differentiation (there is a LOT out there on these issues). Any industry can contribute to this additional research. Employing both our textbook and your own research In this section, write at least two pages of analysis and discussion on SWA’s low-cost/differentiation (it is a combo of these two) strategy; you can highlight the good/bad/successes/blunders. What changes will be required as a result of COVID-19? Prepare a one-page suggestion for SWA’s board of directors based on your findings, which includes a discussion and high-level implementation plan for at least three new initiatives SWA can pursue while preserving its present low-cost/differentiation strategy. The inclusion of COVID-19-specific criteria is reasonable. Combine these into a single document with a minimum of three pages of material (not including reference and title pages). Please format your paper according to the APA rules.
In other words, you should be able to make suggestions to the board (1+pages) after producing an analysis of Southwest Airlines’ (SWA) use of a low-cost/differentiation strategy that includes at least 5 references (2+pages). Assume you’ve been employed as a consultant to assist the company in moving forward and recovering from the pandemic. Based on the information you gathered during your analysis, what advise or guidance would you give them? As you link your writing back to the course material as well as your own research, include both qualitative and quantitative justification for your recommendations.
*Remember, this is your opportunity to demonstrate both your knowledge and your ability to apply it to a current real-world issue.
