Description/Paper Instructions
a research project
For this final project, you will undertake a short observational only investigation to help answer a social psychology research issue. This project follows the one you completed in Week 2 in which you researched a topic, conducted a literature review, developed a research question, and proposed an observational study. This study must be completed entirely through observation, with no interaction between you and the participants. This project gives you the chance to show how your learning in the field of social psychology has been integrated over time.
Based on the input you received on the proposal you provided in Week 2, conduct the investigation. Then, as part of the project, submit a final paper that includes the following:
Page 1 of the title
A basic outline of the topic is given in the abstract.
An analysis of the components of the research question (why is this research question currently relevant within the field of social psychology? ), a discussion of the key concepts contained within the research question, and an operational definition of the variables to be reviewed comprise the statement of the problem.
A review of the literature that summarizes the background material and focuses on prior studies that have addressed the subject.
A summary of your observational only inquiry, including who you observed, where the observation took place, and what you noticed.
Results: Results of your observational only inquiry, including observations and any artifacts that may provide insight into the findings.
Analysis and Discussion: A summary of the implications of the findings in relation to the research topic, as well as how they compare to past study findings.
Conclusion: Restates the thesis and brings the paper to a close.
Page of Reference
Although textbooks should be utilized as a reference, the final work must contain at least six additional research sources (i.e. academic journal articles). Do not limit your sources to Week 6 readings. Submit a paper that provides a thorough examination of the chosen applied social psychology area.
