Greetings! My name is Mohamed Ahmed and I am going to be a Sophmore next semster. I am Middle Eastern and was born in yemen, I came to America when I was two years old. I speak both English and Arabic fluently and little Spanish. I was raised in Oakland and went to Encinal High School in Alameda. I played football for about two years and we won first leage divison championship my eighth grade year. After that I played soccer and baseball. My reason for taking this class is to be able to understand multiple point of views, as well as understanding how people relate experinces and emotions. I am the first in my family to graduate highschool and move on to college.

Hi everyone! My name is Tayfun Selamoglu. I am from Turkey and I am a mechanical engineering major at SFSU. I came to the U.S. to study because I wanted to improve my English and also I wanted to live in SF and experience California Culture. I like to travel, so studying abroad was a great opportunity for me to turn my dream into reality. In addition, I love literature and mythology. I can speak English, Turkish, Italian and a little Spanish. I am taking this class for GE requirements. However, I genuinely want to learn more about ethnic studies since there are many ethnic minorities in my country. Therefore, it would be very helpful at the end if I learn different approaches to the issues related to ethnic studies.

Hey all, my name is Zac Howe and I am going in to be a junior this year at SFSU. I am a computer science major and hopefully to be a technical theater minor later on. I was raised down in Mountain View and grew up with the Googleplex (Google’s home campus) down the street from my house, which is probably what forced my hands to technology for my livelyhood. In my spare time between work and school I am a distance runner, a martial artist (Tae-Kwon-Do), and a part time DJ(House, Trance, and Dubstep). Should be an interesting semester to say the least!
