Explain how the hegemonic process works in these two cases using the identical commercials from last week. What are some of the points of agreement presented in these advertising, and what are the procedures for normalizing them? What is NOT usual or everyday, what forms of social ties are not commonly depicted in advertisements, as advertised by advertisements? What isn’t shown in these advertisements?
Examine the two vehicle advertisements, one from 1959 and the other from now. First, describe the commercials in detail, including what is in them, what objects are in them, who the characters are, what the settings are, and so on. Rather than focusing on the sales pitch, consider the types of social relationships that serve as the sales pitch’s background, location, and context. What do the advertising say about male-female relationships, adult-child interactions, money and happiness, social class, and so on? Or what is a decent life supposed to be like?

The wagon may be used as a living room, and the price is affordable, making it accessible to people of all socioeconomic classes. This commercial has a lot of importance for me because it depicts a white perfect family living in America with their pet while also displaying male dominance and how the guy is in charge. The men are discussing the car, leaving the woman to care for the child, which is why the child is in direct view of the child while also expressing her desire to be a part of the conversation, even if she is technically unable to do so. This also demonstrates that possessing material possessions is an important aspect of being happy.
The Ford ad’s description is accurate, but where is the Chevy ad’s analysis? You’d like to elaborate on how the white family is portrayed as the ideal, a dominating ideology that ignores other races and ethnicities who are also members of society and have families.
Both advertisements represent nuclear families, which is another prevailing concept of what a family should be: heterosexual and nuclear (2 generations). As a result, a family with only one parent, parents of the same gender, or a family without children is not truly a family.
