Order ID 6463784949 Type Essay Writer Level Masters Style APA/MLA/Harvard/Chicago Sources/References 6 Number of Pages 5-10 Pages Description/Paper Instructions Topic: Research report milestone 1 and milestone 2.
Software: Other (i will specify in paper details)
Paper details:
This assignment actually has 2 parts, milestone 1, and milestone 2. Both must be done in a separate Words.
The methods section will be about reporting information regarding the study from the codebook. Similarly, with the data analysis plan, you won’t need to provide statistical references for your choice of analysis (ANOVA or regression) or statistical cut-offs and thresholds (z-score, cronbach’s alpha, and so on). That being said, your measures and materials WILL need references.
The first milestone is a Draft Research Report. It MUST contain the Title Page, Introduction and Methods sections. This will be where you introduce the area of study, survey the previous research, and postulate your own hypotheses. An abstract is not required. The DUE DATE for this first part is on the 15th of September 2020.
Word limit: 1500 words. In-text citations are included in the word count. The title page, reference list, tables and figures (including titles and notes) are not included in the word count.
Introduction (including Aim and Hypotheses): The Introduction section should provide an introduction to the area of research, and a critical review of relevant research on the topic. The introduction should include:
1. A clear rationale for the current study including its significance. For example, it may advance basic knowledge in a novel and innovative way, OR it may address a practical problem (e.g., with public health or economic significance). You should convince the reader that the research question is important and that your study will fill a gap in the research literature.
2. Where appropriate, a theoretical explanation for the research question.
3. A summary of the overall aim of this study (typically 1 – 2 sentences).
4. Clearly specified hypotheses.
Consult peer-reviewed journal articles relevant to your research topic for examples of an introduction.
Method: The method should follow standard journal formats and describe:
1. Participants / sample
2. Measures (e.g., for scales, cite each scale, report the number of items, give one example item, and report on psychometrics) and details on how measures were collected (e.g., self-report, etc.)
3. Data analysis plan (e.g., explain the analyses that will be used, how assumptions will be assessed, and any cleaning of outliers). The second milestone is The full Research Report. It MUST contain the Results, Discussion, Appendices, and References sections, as well as your amended Introduction and Methods sections. An Abstract is not required for this report. The DUE DATE for this second part is on the 1st of October 2020.
Word limit: 3000 words. In-text citations are included in the word count. The title page, reference list, table and figures (including titles and notes) are not included in the word count.
Instructions:
The full research report will contain the following sections:
Introduction (including Aim and Hypotheses): Revised based on feedback from draft research report
Method: Revised based on feedback from draft research report
Results: The results section opens an explanation of how the raw data were handled (e.g., if transformations were necessary, describe them. If outliers were removed, specify from which variables and how many, etc.). Provide descriptive statistics to charactierize the sample here. Accurately report primary results and inferential statistics. Use tables and/or figures as appropriate with appropriate titles/legends.
Discussion: The discussion should open with an overall summary regarding the research findings highlighting what was accomplished and learned. The discussion should also include a statement as to whether each hypothesis was supported or not, and discussing findings in light of the existing literature (e.g., are findings consistent with or differ from the previous literature?). The findings should be interpreted considering both theoretical and methodological explanations; key limitations should be raised, and future research recommended. The discussion should close with a statement about the broader implications and significance of the findings (this is your last opportunity to tell your readers what you found, why it matters, and what they should take away).
References and in-text citations must follow the APA 7th format. The dataset I have choose to follow will be the ACES dataset (the ACES Codebook is attached to the file provided for you) and you can use either JASP or R program to do the analysis. You are allowed to choose the two independent variables and the dependent variable. The 2 IVs can be from the same or different categories (continuous or categorical) and none of the variables can be demographics. The DV has to be from a different category to either of the IVs (categories are noted int he Codebook for each dataset). After that, you can choose whether to run the test using two-way ANOVA or multiple regression. I have attached a pdf field of the field decision tree so that you can choose which analysis you want to do.
I have attached the Aces dataset, the template of the assignment below, and the marking rubric for milestone 1 and 2. I have also attached the ACES RDS file (for R program) and ACES SAV file (for the JASP program) depending on which program you want to use.
