As the project manager for my firm, which has recently been hired to develop an application which is accessible by Apple and Android based tablets, in near real time updates. Since we are already familiar with the developing traditional project charters and statements of work, I would start by suggesting a very comprehensive look at a waterfall-like project, the pros and cons, accessibilities and challenges for this project. Then make the same assessment for the Agile-like project and provide a clear Agile approach for my Agile project.
Since this project duration will be for a period of 90 days, and a new project charter is issued by senior management, Challenges towards meeting the goal of this new charter, moving from waterfall like project to an Agile-like project. For this Agile project I would say that communication and managing project meetings and subsequent meetings to achieve the target gold of 90 days would be my key challenges. Since there would be different team members with different skill sets and perhaps locations, I would think this would be one of my key challenges for this project
In justifying my response, there are other challenges of breaking away from waterfall-like project to an Agile-like project would certainly encounter challenges to my Agile approach But, the end-result would most likely be a successful project that would have its deliverables on-time and on budget. An important thing to remember is that by using the Agile approach at the end of each iteration, both the stakeholders and customers conduct a review to evaluate progress of the project making sure everything meets their objectives and goals. It also allows for flexible scope, embrace changes and the customer interaction throughout the project. Unlike the traditional waterfall-like projects, where many other things such as designs must be completed upfront, having a fixed scope instead of a flexible, and minimum customer interaction.
