Several Scholars point out to the fact that in much religious experience “ the sacred both fascinates and repels.’ Why must this be so? Do you think this is characteristic of the experience of the sacred in modern life? Why or why not?
Sample Thesis statement;
Religious experiences can be of many kinds. It is possible one experience which makes the experience illuminating for one person may repel another person. To some idea of sacred could be meaningless for others it might be more important than their own life. Religious experience can be genuine and it can also be outcomes of religious fervor that makes the experiencer feel good and important. In this paper I will provide examples of such experience and will evaluate it.

Final Research Essay is a multiple entry test. Pick one question and write essay consisting of 4-5 pages. Use arguments provided in text, provide citations and page numbers. Consult at least one other source besides text and provide bibliography.
