Access to Health Services
Introduction
The accessibility of healthcare services is a vital topic that needs to be assessed in the community for the ease in the development of the healthcare standard in the community. National Center for Health Statistics (2016) presents that the cases of accessibility of healthcare services should be considered of importance in the rural areas due to the challenge of lack of health institutions. Accessibility to healthcare involves making use of health services in gaining health outcomes that are desirable. Typically, the process involves getting an entry to the health care system or coverage, getting access of a location that healthcare services are got, and findings the healthcare providers to help in the provision of health services (Stoddart & Evans, 2017). This paper explores the data collected in relation to the cases of Access to health services in Miami-Dade County.
Similarities that are apparent between the data that were gathered and the data that were generated
There are various similarities that are apparent between the information that is collected and the data that is generated. Typically, one of the factors that are observed is the fact that there is a high number of healthcare facilities in the community. The community has had an increasing development in the healthcare organization and this has played a critical role in the process of development of the efficiency standards of patient care. In addition, this will ensure that one is able to make use of the resources in the enhancement of the health standards. This is as well in line with the fact that the process of provision of care has changed over time.
The other factors that have been seen to be similar for the data collected and the data generated are community awareness. There has been a rise in awareness among the community members on the accessibility of healthcare services. Taking this into account, there has been an ease in the process of seeking health services among the people living in the community. Serrano et al. (3027) present that with the support of the healthy people 2020, there is a need for the effective development of the awareness of healthcare services. This is in line with the information collected that indicates that there has been an enhancement in the process of seeking health services among the people in the community. This is has been seen from the interview of the people in the community and getting to know that the health services are of importance.
The information on increasing chances of patients care information there is a need for the elimination of any cases of lack of health support. It is important that a strategy is put in place to allow for the healthcare providers to make use of their skills in the process of provision of health services. Typically, the application of the skills is important because it ensures that one is able to eliminate any cases of unreliable processes of omission of patient needs.
Differences that are apparent between the data that were gathered and the data that were generated
There are data variations in the case of the age of people who have health insurance and increasing support for the use of insurance in the community. The data that is gathered indicates that patients of all ages have had increased use of insurance but the rise in the use of insurance has been seen in the case of children and women. The population of Miami-Dade County has focused on the insurance of the women and the children with the consideration that this is the vulnerable population. However, the data that is presented in the healthy people 2020 has presented that the increase in the population making use of insurance is seen among the elderly population. It has been affirmed that in 2007 the population of the people younger than 65 years were 83% and in 2017, the population was 89% (HealthyPeople.gov, 2019).
The other difference in the data that was gathered and the data that was generated is on the change in the people who are getting access to healthcare services. The indication in the community is that the cases of use of healthcare primary care providers were 76 percent in 2015 (HealthyPeople.gov, 2019). However, it is seen from the community that all the people have had a chance of making use of primary care providers in Miami-Dade County. This implies that the number of healthcare providers in the community has been seen to have increased over time and 100% of the people are seen to have had a chance of increased patient care. The people getting access to care are both the people with and without the insurance as well.
Weakness and strengths of this community
One of the weaknesses that have been seen in Miami-Dade County is the lack of support of the community healthcare providers by the leaders. Typically, the leader has not worked with healthcare providers in the process of building community health services. This has increased the challenge of delivery of reliable healthcare services to the people. The development of an effective process of care to the patients is expected to manage the challenge of unreliable communication processes that may arise among the healthcare providers. Taking this into account, it is important to note that healthcare providers are facing challenges in reaching out to the people for education on health issues of concern.
However, there is a strength that is seen in the community. This is that the process of provision of healthcare services is not discriminative and all the patients are services in an equal manner. This is expected to support the process of development of the healthcare services and the quality of healthcare services that are offered to the patients. The challenges that are found in the health setting will ensure that one is able to eliminate the cases of conflict. Typically, the reduction of cases of conflict will ensure that a nurse is able to take hold of the different standards of patient care.
The other positive thing seen in this community is the commitment of the community members to maintain healthy living. This is evident from the fact that there has been a collection of information on the issue of pollution and the people in the community have taken part in the process of reduction of pollution. Furthermore, the issue of maintaining a healthy living is seen in that the people take part in exercises and people are seen in the evening and in the morning taking part in joking.
With the development of patient care services, it is seen that the people of Miami-Dade County have taken part in the process of elimination of issues such as obesity. The people in the community have ensured that the issues of unreliable care services can be improved over the use of recreational services which has been seen to help in the enhancement of the recreation activities in the community. This has been of critical importance in that there has been an ease in the process of reduction of conflict and the ease in the passage of information has played a bigger role as well.
Areas that need improvement in this community
The areas that need to be improved in the community includes the collaboration of the leaders and the healthcare providers. This will even help in the development of interventions that could in turn help in the elimination of patient issues. This will as well help in the process of enhancement of patient challenges and development of the issues of patient care can be improved with the collaboration. The leaders can be in a position as well to get to know the policies that need changes in the health sector as proposed by the healthcare providers.
In addition, the process of provision of nursing care services has faced a challenge due to the lack of effective relationships among people and the nurses in the health sector. The lack of trust among the nurses is seen in that there is a less number of people considering the services that are offered by nurses as compared to the case of the information presented by the physician. This could be as a result of lack of effective channels of communication. Taking this into account, it will be important that healthcare providers help in the development of an effective channel of communication.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is presented that the access to health services is crucial for all patients and hence should be understood for all communities. There are variations in the data for the collected data and the data that is being assessed. This is an important process that will allow for the determination of the process that will improve the kind of health services being offered. This implies that the understanding of the data will help in the development of measures to manage it. It is evident that there are necessary changes that are important in Miami-Dade County.
