Conclusion
(Schmidt, K. 2019) stated that Professional networking is the best way for nurses to find jobs. Wofford 2018 stated that “whether the need to network is for mentorship or to get a dream job, it is important that one builds a network of professionals”. (Wofford 2018) These above people are those who in a way or the other has made a great impact in my academic and professional journey and working with them I believe will help make my academic journey a great one.

Week 2 | Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies
I have identified the following academic resources and/or strategies that can be applied to success in the nursing practice in general or my specialty in particular.
Directions: In the space below Identify and describe at least three academic resources or strategies that can be applied to the MSN program, and at least three professional resources that can be applied to success in the nursing practice in general or your specialty in particular. For each, explain how you intend to use these resources, and how they might benefit you academically and professionally.
Academic Resource/Strategy 1
American Journal of Nursing.
This is a peer-reviewed journal article that is periodically produced in the line of healthcare. Most importantly, the article is focused on improving healthcare through the best nursing practices. Experts in the field of nursing share insights on the best nursing practices that are required to improve standards of healthcare in the country. This journal article also has up to date medical nursing procedures that are very insightful for nurses to apply in their practice. By reading this journal, real-life applications of theory from the MSN FNP program can be found. I find it very insightful to my line of work and as a helpful strategic tool for my nursing career.
Academic Resource/Strategy 2
Medline
Medline is a database that provides insights on the best and up to date medical nursing procedure. Medline provides the best references to the point of care nursing. The database contains more than 26 million records from 5,639 selected publications covering biomedicine and health from 1950 to the present. As a nurse undertaking the MSN-FNP program, I can use this site for research on point of care nursing. This academic database resources are peer-reviewed and can be used for assignments, projects, and research papers as secondary sources.
Academic Resource/Strategy 3
Cochrane
Cochrane is a combination of six databases, and all focused-on healthcare and nursing fields (Bond, 2020). As an aspiring Family nurse practitioner, I can gain insights on the best procedures based on research with this database. Evidence-based practice protocols and up to date medical protocols and procedures can be found from this site. This helps nurses know the best strategies and clinical decisions to make to improve their patients’ healthcare. By going through this database, nurses can stay updated on the best medical practices and apply them to the MSN-FNP program.
Professional Resource/Strategy 1
American Association of Nurse Practitioners
This is also an annual conference that brings together nurses and students. It is aimed at the growing nursing profession from horizontal information sharing. Through such events, MSN-FNP students have an opportunity to meet experts in their field of interest and share ideas. Through such forums, there is also an opportunity for networking, which is important to me for developing my professional career.
Professional Resource/Strategy 2
AANP Specialty and Leadership Conference
This conference is aimed at improving the nursing discipline through integrated horizontal information flow. Speakers who are experienced nurses and other medical experts share their insights on how to tackle issues arising. The summit also brings together students that are from different parts of the country. It is a great opportunity to network and gain knowledge of the real world of nursing.
Professional Resource/Strategy 3
American Association of College of Nursing Student Policy Summit
This is an annual conference that takes place in Washington, DC. The summit is aimed at training and discussing the importance of students taking part in politics. This summit is essential in progressing my career because the experts who speak at such summits have vast knowledge and experience in the nursing field, and their experiences are shared. The summit also teaches the importance of nurses taking up leadership roles in the hospital. AACN works to establish quality standards for nursing education; assists schools in implementing those standards; influences the nursing profession to improve health care; and promotes public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice. Such insights are important in developing my career.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES/STRATEGIES
HOW I INTEND TO USE THE RESOURCES
The academic sources are very important to me because they will keep me up to date with the best nursing protocols that are evidence-based. From the insights, I am able to develop a culture of research and reliance on evidence. Further, the academic sources provide a good source of information for my projects, research assignments, and references for my practice. Reviewing such content gives me the best knowledge to progress my education with the MSN-FNP program.
I intend to use professional resources like the annual conferences to create a network. From the summits, I will recognize and approach my mentors. It is also an opportunity to learn from the experiences of other people. This allows me to develop an idea and strategies that I will use while practicing in my interest field.
