Journalism project: Marketing proposal
Your final project will be a choose-your-own adventure. You will be putting together a concise Marketing proposal. This is a core media writing competency for all of those disciplines. You will select a real national brand that will be your “client” for purposes of this project.
The proposal (which should be able to be accomplished in 2 pages) needs to consist of two elements:
- An introductory section to explain the approach you took and what you’re trying to accomplish (roughly a half-page, professional tone).
- A creative brief (roughly 1 pages, similar to this resource(Links to an external site.)), which outlines all of the elements you need to include in your proposal:
- A short brand statements
- A brief overview of the campaign’s background and objectives
- Key challenges that the campaign aims to resolve
- Target audience(s) for the campaign
- Primary message describing the brand’s values and market positioning
- Communication channels on which the campaign will run
Your grade be weighted as follows: Choice of project, introduction (25%); creative brief (50%); and formatting and writing, including grammar/spelling (25%).
