Biofuels have an opportunity to change the future with their qualities like renewability and cost of production. The Fast depletion of fossil fuels is starting to demand an dire need to carry out research to find out the practical alternative fuels. Bio-fuels are typically made of a substance that resembles vegetable oil in composition. “At present, USA uses 50 million gallons and European countries use 350 million gallons of bio-diesel annually”(Murugesan 654), this goes to show that countries think bio-fuels are important enough to produce 400 million gallons worth.
Biofuels are better for the environment. To start off bio-fuels are renewable which is very important long term. One day fossil fuels will no longer be a sustainable option, and these vegetable oils will replace them. In addition to being renewable they are also less toxic. They produce less greenhouse gases than regular fossil fuel oil. Acquiring these fossil fuels burns fossil fuels and also emits a ton of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
Efficiency is a major problem for current fuel. The equipment required to mine is expensive and you need many permits. With bio-fuel you can just buy more land and grow more crops to be turned into oil saving money. Furthermore, with this cheaper cost of production the oil can be more efficient. A consumer may not have to buy oil as frequently or as much as they do.
In conclusion, biofuel is better for environment. It is also a renewable resource so it is better for a more sustainable alternative. Bio-fuel also has a opportunity to be more efficient.
