The disability benefit is only paid to those who do not work at all. Suppose that the benefit rules are changed so disabled workers are guaranteed income of 10.000 kroners per day. Hence, if their wages are less than 10.000 kroners, they receive a benefit that brings their total daily income (wage plus the benefit) up to 10.000 kroners. When the wages of a disabled individual rise above 10.000 kroners per day, their disability benefits end.
