- Goal statement:
As a Human Resource intern, my interest lies in working with different members of the organization. My roles shall entail offering assistances in recruitment and onboarding activities including screening resumes and application forms, recruiting at entry level, and help in college recruiting plans and materials. In this regard, these roles shall help to sharpen my interpersonal and communication skills. I also hope to gain organization and administrative skills as they are relevant in proper management of employees’ welfare.
I am also looking forward to gaining exceptional leadership skills while working in my internship position. This goal aligns with my major in management which highlights on visionary leadership and conflict management. As a human resource intern, I will gain experience in tasks such as marketing, accounting, management and business law. These tasks touch on areas that every top management handles.
My long-term goal would be to have skills in recruiting, retaining and promoting top talent in the market. This is because it is the goal of every organization to hire professionals that promote its organizational culture. During my internship, I shall be able to immerse myself in various activities which will strengthen my talent hiring skills. They shall include, coordinating interviews, physicals and testing and through these skills I shall be able to evaluate, the attitudes, skills, knowledge and aptitudes of the potential job candidates.
In conclusion, I would really appreciate interning at Masco World Wide Travel, a subsidiary of Lulu trip, which offers a dynamic professional environment. The organization’s main business lies in tourism implying that I shall interact with diverse cultures thus enhancing my communication and leadership skills.
Furthermore, I shall be better at problem solving and decision making skills since multicultural environments tend to present a myriad of issues. Overall, I shall be part of a great team which will enhance both my personal and professional life.

Goal 1:
My goal is to achieve superior organizational and administrative skills at the end of my internship.
I intend to undertake the following two actions to achieve these skills:
Action 1: I shall help in coordinating interviews, conducting physicals and testing, training, and preparing college recruiting plans and materials to enhance my organization skills.
Action 2: I shall assist in preparing employee payroll, preparing and managing employees’ files, proof reading human resource documents, report writing and documentation and preparing of training materials for employees.
Success measure: My success in achieving these two skills will be measured in form of completing the relevant documentation as per the daily, weekly and monthly timelines as well as the smooth conducting of recruitment processes.
Goal 2:
My goal is to improve my interpersonal and communication skills upon completing my internship.
I shall perform the following two actions to achieve these skills:
Action 1: I shall participate in assisting with the organization’s interviews, physicals and testing which mostly entail direct contact with potential employees as well as screening resumes and application forms.
Action 2: I shall also participate in dealing with employee work-related issues, preparing of written communication such as memos and notices and directly asking interview questions.
Success measure: I shall be able to measure my success based on the degree in which employees openly communicate with human resources and other managers whenever they present any issues or have any ideas to presen.t
Goal 3:
My goal touches more on my personal life which is to improve my self-awareness and self-management skills which encompass emotional intelligence.
The two actions to undertake shall entail:
Action 1: I intend to interact with my colleagues from other departments by sharing experiences and exchanging ideas during work breaks and company events.
Action 2: I plan to participate in conflict resolution tasks allocated to the human resource as employees are bound to present any issues or barriers they might be facing while at work. This enhances my ability to manage my emotions when dealing with sensitive matters.
Success measure: I shall measure my success based on the existence of an open and healthy relationship with my fellow colleagues even after handling conflicts.
