Please add a paragraph to the Degree Plan that discusses the SMT AOS guidelines. Something like the text below. Feel free to edit.
I have been able to develop “a working knowledge of the vocabulary of a field” and “an understanding of fundamental principles by applying them to a variety of problems or situations” through not only computer courses, but also my work in the field for ??? years. I have “working knowledge of needed experimental techniques, including data acquisition and interpretation” through a number of courses in computers such as Project Management in Information Technology/Information Systems, Information Assurance, etc. I have “working knowledge of needed mathematics” through Statistics and Financial Accounting. I have shown I have “communication skills appropriate to [my field] including reading, writing, and presentation skills” in the writing-intensive ???? courses, as well as in my other upper-level computer courses, (which not only required mathematical solutions but also an explanation and justification of the solutions). Through the courses I studied I have been able to develop the needed “critical perspective that allows [me] to compare and evaluate theories, models and experimental work” in the field of computers. These courses and Earth Science course provided me with “an awareness of the wider context in which science and technology operate.” My course work demonstrates both the breadth and depth needed to complete the required program for Science, Mathematics and Technology.
