Two stages are needed for this project – first, to become a consultant and second, to play the position of mayor who, as the consultant recommends, needs to present the action plan.
Part A: Advisor
You are a consultant to a city that examines if a convention center is possible to attract tourists. Furnish the mayor’s office with your recommendation for center building. (Professor Heywood Sanders’ study issued at the Brookings Institute is a recommended source of your work. The report offers details on requests for conventions and the provision of convention centres. I also have some other references in this project to help you. In your analysis, you must uncover two other sources. Conflicting sources are likewise appropriate as long as the analysis is based on sound economies. You need to present a one-page executive overview of your students and you must use your economic arguments/data to defend your decision. A single page encourages pupils to be concisely aware of what they wish to express. Use the techniques you acquired for complete credit in your course (opportunity cost for example). No more than one page executive summary may be submitted by the students. Specific references on a separate page should be listed.
Part B: Town Hall
You are the mayor of the city, who will be responsible for transmitting to residents and stakeholders the final decision on the Convention Center project. You have to discuss both the decision and the rationale behind the decision. A good communiqué, using the information and statistics provided by the consultant, should be informed and convincing so that the policy decision ultimately is supported by people and stakeholders.Students are required to present a one-page media communication for this section of the assignment. Not more than one page may be submitted by students.
Note: your request shall not exceed three page(s) one page for the Executive Summary of the consultant, the reference page and the one page press release.
