Skill #1 Self and Social Awareness Skill description This is a skill that focuses on understanding the surrounding and self strengths and weaknesses. It essentially includes emotional intelligence, which help an individual to understand how his interactions and behavior affects other groups Importance to the future of work Social and self-awareness will be necessary in the future work because of increase in workforce diversity. The diverse workforce requires social awareness in order to interact with effectively. Example of how this skill can make you valuable to a potential employer Self-awareness is beneficial to employers because it helps in leadership duties; importantly, it includes emotional intelligence. Furthermore, the employer benefits by having an individual able to interact freely and effectively with a diverse workforce.
Skill #2 Communication Skill description It is the ability to clearly and concisely pass information verbally, in writing or in sign language to the audience such that the audience can understand the message. Furthermore, it entails ability to understand the messages from other speakers such that one can make meaning out of it. Importance to the future of work Communication skills help in reducing conflict within organizations because information is shared clearly such that there is no misunderstanding.It also enhances co-operation because teams and groups can share information about issues that should be solved. Example of how this skill can make you valuable to a potential employer Communication skill will be beneficial to employer because there will be reduced conflict arising from misunderstanding in the organization. Furthermore, communication skill is important in leadership roles of passing instructions from the leader to the followers or junior employees.
Skill #3 Problem Solving Skill Skill description It is the ability to identify a problem in a given situation, research about it and come up with amicable and ethical solutions.It is an essentially identification of challenges in different situations and coming up with solutions. Importance to the future of work It is necessary in the contemporary work environment because of the increase in challenges that range from technical environmental challenges.
