Discontinue Products That Cause An Organization To Lose Money
Discontinue Products That Cause An Organization To Lose Money Requirements: For each of the first and second discussions, write a minimum of 150 words in response. 1st Discussion First and foremost, any goods that cause a loss to a company must be phased out. Every business organization’s most important goal is to produce money. The development of profits in an organization indicates that the firm provides goods and services that are satisfactory to clients. Customers who are satisfied give the company a significant competitive advantage; as a result, the company must continue to offer products and services in the market (Crowley, 2017). Organizational products that rarely generate revenues and instead generate losses are unfit for the market.
To avoid further losses, the items should be phased out. Loss-making products should be phased out because they decrease a company’s ability to operate. Companies that lose money, for example, have their market share reduced. As a result, consumer demand will be severely lowered (Crowley, 2017). It would be difficult to keep the personnel and employees if these reductions were made. As a result, it will be critical to phase out all items that generate losses rather than revenues. Furthermore, withdrawal of loss-generating products is critical because it prevents the company that sells the product from going bankrupt. For example, firms that strive to keep producing products even while they are losing money will eventually have no choice but to go bankrupt. This is due to the fact that they are devoting more resources to items that do not provide any value to the company (Crowley, 2017). To avert this, the company’s operations must be halted before it goes insolvent.
A company that has been declared bankrupt will have a long and difficult survival; as a result, it should stop manufacturing items that generate losses rather than profits, which is the stated goal of product production. References F. Crowley (2017). In Europe’s industrial and service industries, product and service discontinuation is common. European Journal of Innovation Management is a publication dedicated to the study of innovation management in Europe. 2nd Discussion: As a designer, I feel that before making such a critical decision, we should analyze how package design and optimization affect the entire supply chain. Packing, package construction, transportation, and storage limits can all be reduced with an optimal packaging.
Reducing the carbon footprint of packaging using recycled and energy-efficient materials helps to lower energy use, materials costs, and overall costs. An optimized packaging allows for more efficient use of cargo units and makes distribution to stores and customers easier. An optimized packaging at the end of the supply chain gives information and value to the consumer, promotes brand recognition, and stimulates subsequent purchases. This also makes me think of economic rent, which is any payment made to the owner or factor of production in exchange for the use of resources at a lower cost. Because labor supply is fixed and entirely inelastiv, land is a prime example of a factor of production. As we’ve seen, land is a free gift from nature, thus it can’t be produced in greater quantities when demand or prices rise. References: Richard B. McKenzie and Dwight R. Lee.
