Digital Technologies Engagement Essay Assignment
Description/Paper Instructions
hope that everyone is having a great week so far. My inductive argument is about the pros and cons of using Marijuana. The article I read clearly outlines the pros and cons of smoking Marijuana also the long-term effects of usage, whether it be smoked or ingested via vaping of edibles.
Marijuana has been studies for many years and have some significant pros and it have been linked to other health issues, especially if usage starts at a young age. Also, it has been referred to as a gateway drug, but depending on the situation and user distinct predisposition the outcome can be quite different.
P1: Strong benefits from using Marijuana for chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, and cancer patients.
P2: Marijuana pose significant risk for respiratory problems if smoked, schizophrenia, psychosis, car crashes, lagging social achievement in life, and perhaps pregnancy- related problems.
P3: Consuming Marijuana without smoking, still poses a risk to pregnant women, increase mental disorders, respiratory disorders and operating heavy machinery like a car.
P4: Deaths related to Marijuana overdoses is none existing. P5: All other highly restricted Schedule 1 substances have had documented overdoses and even death.C: Marijuana is useful in many forms for chronic pain, multiple sclerosis and cancer patients, but poses some risks to developing mental issues, pregnant women, respiratory patient and operating a car, therefore Marijuana is not a safe drug.

I like how you have so many premises.
That is a good thing. It means that there is a lot to go over and that you don’t skip it. Nice work on that. The only thing that I would point out is the fact that your conclusion states that Marijuana is not a safe drug. To make that claim, I think you need to have a definition of “safe” in your argument. You mentioned the issues that it can have, but that does not mean that it should be called “unsafe” in all cases. I think more bounds need to be put on the word “safe” and how it would connect to other substances (alcohol, opioids, etc.). What do you think of that? Let me know what you think. Frank Scarpa
