Data Model for Health and Medical Questions
Instructions for Assessment 4: Modeling Data
Create a data model in Visio to support the business processes of a health care clinic. In the data model, include all of the clinic’s data points.
INTRODUCTION
A data model depicts a database’s structure, as well as the relationships that dictate how data is stored and retrieved. The data model also determines the data management system to be utilized. The majority of data management solutions are designed to work with a specific data model. Relational, conceptual, logical, physical, and entity-relationship models are among the many types of data models. Diagrams are used to represent data models. You will use Visio to create a data model for a specific health-care scenario in this assessment.
PROFICIENCY DEMONSTRATION
You will demonstrate your proficiency in the course competencies by successfully completing this assessment using the following assessment scoring guide criteria:
Competency 3: Apply data analysis skills to ensure the integrity and quality of health data.
Construct a data model that is supportive of the clinic’s operations.
Data should be organized into categories that are clearly defined.
Use symbols and notations for data modeling.
Apply your understanding of data modeling ideas.
Competency 5: Support health care data analytics by communicating in a professional manner.
Create a professional paper that is clear, well-organized, and devoid of spelling problems.
