Description/Paper Instructions
Criminal Justice Careers Project
You must complete one project by following the instructions. Please submit it as a PPT file (PowerPoint) in the Assignment Dropbox. The grading scale for the projects may be found below. The due date of the Criminal Justice Careers Project is December 5th.
Project Instructions and Rubric
Students will submit a PowerPoint summarizing careers in law enforcement, courts, and corrections. All submissions are required to include a distinct title page and reference page. All submissions should include 12 font and Times New Roman. All facts, statistics, and other detailed information MUST be cited in text and included in the reference page. Students may use any academic formatting style that they like (ex: APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) but must strictly adhere to the style of their choosing. APA formatting is highly recommended and 5 bonus points will be awarded for correct APA format. Students may choose to use a different formatting style at their discretion but will not qualify for the extra credit opportunity. Facts, statistics, theories, and other information that cannot be cited are not permitted.
The PowerPoint consists of the following 6 separate sections: Introduction, Law Enforcement, Courts, Corrections, Conclusion, and References. Each topic should include a clear heading AND consist of detailed slides answering the questions and in-text citations. Because this is relatively short, you may not include quotations but rather must re-word the information and cite the author(s) for their ideas. Remember, you can cite without quoting. Students must include a minimum of 3 reliable sources and 5 bonus points will be awarded if at least 3 of the sources are peer-reviewed journal articles that are well cited throughout the document. Students may not use verbal communications, Wikipedia, or other unreliable sources as references.
