It is common for every organization to face different confrontations and all these should
be resolved by using efficient negotiation techniques. Any negotiation or confrontation
needs preparation to be successful.
In the case, if there is a small disagreement or conflict then, comprehensive planning
may not be needed, but for a major conflict and when the impact of the conflict will be
high, then it is very important to set the goals, identify the trade-offs and set an
alternative plan, all these will help in solving the issues promptly.
Before any of this process is started, gathering the past information, analyzing the past
relationship, expecting the future results and identifying the consequences of winning or
losing should be made, this helps in recognizing the power of the opponent and based
on that one can prepare themselves to participate in the confrontation or the negotiation
process.
So the organizations should be prepared to solve the disputes within the short time
available and efficient methods, this will be more for the larger organization.
One of the main sources for the arise of the conflict is when there is a difference in the
ideology or in the beliefs about the organizational structure or business
operations among the individuals. Analyzing the problem, using different approaches to
deal with the conflict and its consequences are important procedures that should be
followed during the process of conflict and resolution.
It is also very significant for every business to develop the best alternative to a
negotiated agreement; this should be done because every request made by the
company may not be granted in the negotiation and confrontation process. During the
negotiation process, if the situation from two sides becomes a stalemate, then the
environment will result in creating anger.
So possessing effective negotiation skills can help in minimizing the impact of
confrontation and also helps in resolving the conflict successfully. The individual needs
to diffuse anger and focus on resolving the problem, doing this helps in functioning
effectively even in challenging situations.
