Evidence-Based Practices Identify at least two evidence-based best practices you would apply to your case to support culturally competent assessment or outcomes. For example, you could choose an intervention tailored to the cultural needs of your client community and/or you could select an intervention to improve the cultural competence for the social work staff at your agency in a way that supports positive outcomes for your client system. Field replacement information: Orientation to Agency Provide a brief description of plan for orientation to the agency. Student was given a tour of whole Fresno Center and the different departments. Ct was also given a tour to Living Well Center where she will be completing her internship. The student was also oriented to where she will be stationed with LWC.
Student was provided with policy and procedure, review documentation manual, and completing her Fresno County Managed Care credential process. Student had also completed HIPAA training and will be completing Fresno County documentation and Compliance training in order to be credential for billing. Student was provided with access to Fresno Center email, share folders, and access to client chart. Student is encouraged to join in session with other seasoned unlicensed clinician during session. Assessment of Student’s Prior Experience Write a brief assessment of student’s relevant education and experience. This information is to be used in developing student’s educational plan.
Student’s education and experience was reviewed. She has a diverse job experiences such as customer services to home care aid and internship with charter school as social worker intern. Her experience as a social work intern provides her with skills to conduct assessment and engage with other. She experiences in customer services shows will provide her skills to easily build rapport with clients. Student will be challenged both clinically and culturally with Living Well Center to provide services to our our under-served Southeast Asian population. The Living Well Center provides specialty mental health services to individuals that have serious emotional disturbances or serious mental illness and are in need of on-going community-based services.
The goal of the program is to increase the number of licensed mental health professionals of SEA descent with bi-lingual and bi-cultural capacity. Student will be given opportunity to work with clients individually and in groups to enhance her clinical skills. Supervisory Structure and Process Detail how the schedule and/or plan for the student and Field Instructor to meet for a minimum standard of one hour of supervision each week. Student will be supervised by LCSW weekly for individual supervision. LWC conducted weekly group supervision. During group supervision, we often discuss case study, discuss cultural and ethical boundaries, clinical documentation, etc.
Tools and Supervision Strategies Please list the teaching tools (i.e. observation, shadowing, videos, process recordings) the student will be expected to use during the field practicum.
