Nursing theories affect everyday nursing practice. Most nurses employ a number of theories in practice rather than using one theory exclusively. Using a variety of nursing theories during a given day, allows the nurse to choose the best theory to fit the situation. In an ideal setting, nursing theories serve to provide underpinnings to nursing care in every patient encounter. They help nurses use critical thinking skills, analytical skills and improve concept comprehension. Nursing theories improve patient care, patient outcomes, and nurse-patient communication. Through the use of nursing theories in practice, new knowledge and data are gleaned that can influence the future of nursing practice.
The nurses should be well acquainted with public health science, nursing theories, health promotion, cultural sensitivity, collaborative practice. The above community concepts help the nurses easily fit in the communities and hence be able to collaborate with the community members freely. Moreover, the community biodiversity’s are a key concern for the nurses to carry out their health based community activities. The activities include; family and individual advocacy, patient education, and other interdisciplinary approaches(Xue&Intrator, 2016). The above implies that the community nurses should perform the roles of advocator, clinician, consultant, educator, counselor, case manager, and researcher (Wessel, 2015). However, to easily perform the role nurses need to collaborate with community organization and members from other professions continuously. The community nursing practice model (CNPM) offers a context for comprehending the wholeness of interrelated lives. This model is founded on the basis that:

Individuals are caring, while caring is perceived and regarded as the essence of nursing.
Individuals are whole and connected to others entailing communities and families.
CNPM is widely utilized today in identifying health issues and community assets and strengths. Its inquiry group technique is highly used in recognizing health needs and services while resolving them. Smith & Parker (2020) states that this method shows increased possibilities of acceptance of modification by communities. CNPM is used in health promotion and in enhancing care to underserved and vulnerable populations. This model of technology knowing in nursing demonstrates the shared practice of the utilization of technology in learning a person as complete and whole and utilizing technologies of care mainly to comprehend an individual more fully. This theory calls for an appreciation of an individual’s humanness, engaging in mutual knowing, engaging in any dynamic related caring nursing relationship, and furthering knowledge of an individual via technological knowing. These two theories assist health practitioners in maintaining consistent working surroundings with sick people. They provide contemporary equipment and procedures to the nurses to provide excellent treatment to the patients. Nurses can also use these nursing theories to fully analyze and comprehend the patient’s circumstances (Hetzler et al., 2011).
