Instructions:
For this assignment, you should draft two professional documents: ONE memo, and ONE letter
Situation:
With technology, many employees now have the ability to work from anywhere they please. At your company, there have been a number of requests from employees regarding mobile work options. Your CEO, Jessica Popeski, has stated that decisions around working from home should be up to the managers of individual departments, as each department at the company has different needs and requirements for its employees.
Task 1:
Memo
As a department manager, you have to determine if employees can work from home, and if not, why not, and if so, what the logistics around working from home will be.
Write a memo to all employees in your department that announces your department’s new work from home policy. I recommend that you base your decision on reputable research.
Organize your memo according to the directions outlined in our PowerPoint slides from Week 5, and from the textbook. Consider creating a company logo to head the memo. Consider what information employees will need to know in order to adhere to department guidelines for or against working from home.
Task 2:
Letter
Your company has posted a job opening directed towards current managers. This would be a significant promotion for you. As you are very much invested in your professional development, you decide to apply, and write an application letter in which you respond to a job posting (of your choosing.)
Write an application letter, addressed to your CEO Jessica Popeski, highlighting your exemplary fit for the role. Please find and respond to a real online job posting, and provide a link to the posting in your submission.
