Description / paper instructions
Hi, this is my homework question, i need you to read part 1 then answer part 2. also, in the end you will see the instruction about how to do this questions please do just part 2 perfectly and if you have any question just tell me to explain more. Fictional Species Part 1 1.What will be the size of your species? How will the structural proportions be determined? The size of the species will be indeterminate, meaning it will have a growth that will not stop until death. The structural proportions will on the other hand be controlled in similarity to how plants grow. Plants are indeterminate while animals are not. This species alone is a combination of the two, where internally its composition is an animal. The species is surrounded by a hard shell that allows for size to be indeterminate. The size of our species with be about two feet long and will have the average width of a lobster. Average mass is approximately 12 Kg at death. 2.What is the purpose of this structure for your species? Will there be other species that find your species tasty? How will it combat them? The purpose of the structure is to follow its growth rate. The species will be found appetizing to seals, cod fish, and many other large sea mammals. When this species is alerted of a predator ink is secreted from glands under the exoskeleton which aid in masking smell and blurring vision. 3.How will size and structures be affected by weather? Such as extreme heat, cold, drought or moisture? Cold blooded. Metabolism reduced in cold weather to help survival. This animal thrives in zero degrees Celsius through thirty degrees Celsius. It can not survive outside water thus being able to always be around cold water temperatures, never experiencing drought. 4.Will the cells have the ability to expand and shrink? What will be the limitation or endpoint for this? What will cause it to do so? The cells will have the ability to expand and shrink. The cells will shrink in colder waters to decrease the metabolic rate of the animal and will expand as the water temperature rises. 5.What will be the rate of growth? When will structural features appear in your species? When will the reproductive capabilities appear? 2 cm a year. Hatches as a fully developed adult. The animal will reproduce the following spring and their eggs hatch in the fall. Once hatched as a fully developed adult, reproductive capabilities appear within a time frame of one to two days. 6.How will the body size and structure affect its energy requirements? As it grows, its daily caloric intake also respectively increases. Simply meaning that the more it grows, the more it will need energy to function properly and live sustainably through its whole lifetime. The structure will not change however body size will increase due to the amount of food the lobster consumes within a day. 7.How will internal homeostasis be regulated? Our species will regulate heat by metabolism; as the heated blood flows through the gills it comes into contact with cold water. This results in the internal temperature of the species to be the same temperature as the water. Our species must stay in waters to regulate the components that allow it to thrive and survive. Homework Set 2 What are the tradeoffs in function might be seen with body size structure and its environmental interactions? How will the species change or adapt with its environment it will live in? How will it make or find nutrition/energy? Water? What environmental conditions are needed for your species to survive? and thrive? How will your species regulate internal homeostasis with its environment? Species specifics that we need to have: Indeterminant (Body Size) Non-webbed and Nodular (Shape) Mechanical (Environmental) Cilia and Exoskeleton (Mobility) Open (Circulation)
