1. Summarize your experience. Share any insight gained from this experience.
Implementing EBP models is intended to break down the complexity and challenges healthcare organizations to face. Nursing scholars have developed a variety of evidence-based practices (EBP). EBP improves patient safety, care, and outcome, resolves environmental issues affecting health, enhances the quality of life, develops theories, explores healthcare economic issues, and addresses benchmarking needs or barriers in an organization. There are positive associations between research culture and organizational performance, which has supported EBP implementation in their organization (Schaffer, M. A., Sandau, K. E., & Diedrick, L. 2013).
This assignment taught me how to identify peer-reviewed articles by searching for journal information. This assignment has helped me to find articles that are appropriate for my projects.
1. What role do professional journals, organizations, or conferences play in evidence-based practice?
Nursing organizations promote and encourage the use of evidence-based practice to their members. They provide access to continuing education, specialty journals, and conferences. The conferences allow the flow of energy and ideas by bringing nurses from around the country to share education and best practice. They generate the needed changes and proactive works to maintain a healthy profession that advocated for the needs of its clients, including nurses. Nursing knowledge and research are found in journals that build a platform for nursing practice (Chism, 2019).
How can you utilize these resources to facilitate evidence-based practice in your professional career?
Being actively involved with any association that fits the choice of your career as a nurse not only opens up educational and networking opportunities but it can also help you adapt valuable leadership skills. Many professional organizations provide the appropriate educational needs to nurses based on their career choice, such as ANA, clinical specialty associations (where youll find the most up-to-date evidence as well as best practices in your specialization. For example, the American Association of critical nurses and the Emergency Nurses Association (Links to an external site.) advocate for safe practice and care for nurses. Cultural/ethnic associations. These provide support, education, and development for various cultural and ethnic groups and promote better health care for patients of those groups
