Case Conceptualization Form
- Assessment
Sofia is an eight year old child who is suffering as a result of the fights between her parents Jamie and Marie. The complaint should therefore be on how to help Sofia in order to prevent her from running into depression. The social and cultural considerations that should be taken into account include the background aspects of the child. The differential diagnosis that was used included assessing the history of domestic violence as well as whether or not she was going through any form of depression or sexual violence (Kelly, 2015). It is imperative to take into consideration the legal and ethical considerations in order to ensure that everything is done in accordance with the law. The legal consideration involves assessing whether there is consent on the part of Sofia as well as her parents prior to conducting the assessment and/or diagnosis. The ethical consideration on the other hand involves assessing whether the actions that were being taken by Sofia as a result of the assault and violence were ethical or not.
- Case Conceptualization
The psychological strengths of the client include the fact that she is able to effectively describe whatever is happening in her life and is also not afraid to speak up. In addition, she is also committed to finding a solution to the problem and therefore speaks up also on some of the things that she would expect or that her parents would do in order to prevent her or stop her from going through the suffering that she is currently going through. One of the theoretical orientations that will be used for the client includes the Adlerian psychotherapy. Sofia will be approached through a 12 stage model that will be aimed at assessing the changes in her current lifestyle. In addition, it will also be used to assess her goals as well as the goals of the organization and whether or not they are being met during the 12 stage model. It will be critical in unraveling her strengths and also lead to an improved individual.
III. Treatment Plan
Some of the short term objectives of treating Sofia include placing her in a safe place where she will be away from the constant violence for a specific period of time. The second short term objective should be to take her through a psychological therapy in order to avert depression. The long term strategies on the other hand include conducting a psychological therapy for her parents and consequently integrating her with them after the violence has seized. The second long term strategy should be to ensure that she is taken to a boarding facility in order to ensure that she does not miss school and that she is able to pursue her studies effectively (James & Gilliland, 2017).
The two long term treatment goals include putting Sofia through a psychiatric session whereby she will be taken through a program in order to recover from the depression. The second long term treatment goal will be to take her through a medication program in order to recover from the violence that she may have gone through.

- Interventions
I will work on the intervention plan by ensuring that there is a team in place of psychiatrists to support her. In addition, I will also take her through a support team of other people who may have gone through such violence and have come out of them. Finally, it will also be important to source for a boarding school that will support her and at the same time enable her to study (Laureate Education, 2017).
