Assessment of Employee Training Essay
Each method of training used to the employees has to meet the needs of the employees. They could be performance issues, safety issues within the organization, production challenges and assessment shortages. The method of training used has also to fulfill the following needs if any of them is a problem to the organization or the employees. These are the emerging issues that such as advancement in technology, use of new equipments, how to use and adjust to modern tools and equipments. This also involves helping the employee to adjust to new laws and regulations in place for the company to achieve its goals (Films Media Group, 2008). In order to help in improving employees’ needs, there has to be career development needs that will look at the issues affecting employees at their work places. These include the requests that employees might have has for in the company and therefore they have to be addressed during the training period. The issue of career development plans about the employees has to be mentioned, during the training because it concerns the employees; solutions to such issues need to be addressed.
Assessment of employee training involves various types of evaluation. They include use of questionnaires, focus discussion groups and use of interviews. Performance appraisals are used in the evaluation of employee training. These are used after the training to help know if the training was helpful to the employees. Observation is helpful to observe if there are behavior changes with the employees after the training. The way in which a company organizes and structures its trainings is important for the employees. This creates an important reason as to why the company is doing so and it helps the employees know the importance of training to the company. Time taken to analyze all the needs of the employees is important. The implementation process should be able to create a close relationship between the employees and the company (McConnell, 2003).
The company has to develop a learning tradition that will help the employees see the importance training to the company. Individual learning strategies that will help in improving employees work performance to realize the company’s goals. The company has to manage a community-mentoring program that will help the employees to develop skills out of other experienced employees in the company. Provision of motivation for employees to continue with learning at any time and level of their working is important. The company has to encourage employees to make use of internet learning that will help them improve their skills for the good of the company in realization of its goals.
