Part I.
SEC 10-K Report Due Week 7: October 6
You will be asked to select a company that is publicly traded. You must research and secure the SEC 10-K Annual Report for the most recent year. This is often available at the company web site. Or the website for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Look for “Investor Information” or “Company Information”. Save the file to your computer for easy access in future. There is no need to print as the report is usually 100 pages or more.
1. Post the name of your company in the SEC 10-K company in the week 1 Discussion. See Week 1 Discussion Board for more detailed company selection requirements.
2. Each student must select a different company so read the company names selected by classmates. It is your responsibility to avoid duplication of names.
3. You will use this company for responding to Discussion assignments related to this SEC Project during the semester.
4. You will write a paper, single spaced, one- inch margins, 12- point font, with double space between paragraphs. Your paper should comment on the financial statements for your company as they relate to the information presented in this course. A prescribed format for presenting this paper with additional requirements is available at the end of this document. You MUST adhere to the format provided below; otherwise you will lose points.
5. Take care to avoid academic dishonesty. Write your paper, read it, and edit. Use your own words.
6. If you choose to include tables from outside sources, portions of the financial statements, etc., they must be in the Appendix and not in the main body of the paper. If you create your own table, you can include them in the body of the paper.
7. You will also be required to include links to the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement as an attachment to your report.
8. APA style is required for overall format and for citations unless superseded by other requirements noted in the instructions here.
