Topic: Annotated Bibliography: Abolition, Liberation, and Resistance
Paper details:Assignment Instructions from the faculty: An annotated bibliography (3 readings, 350-400 words each), 200 words of summary and 150-200 of evaluation and critique. (I paid for 1375 just in case you need to go over the 1200 🙂
The annotated bib is supposed to have a coherent thread. (My thread is Abolition, Liberation, and Resistance. My overall question is “How can we engage in transformational resistance, or the creation of new ways of being, knowing and doing in education (abolitionist work) in order to transform education as a practice of freedom (liberation and emancipation)?”)
Each annotation should be about 2 paragraphs long.
The first paragraph should state the argument, methods, and field(s). The information should come from the text, but you should summarize them IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Pay special attention to methodology, thesis statement, theory, key concepts (e.x. post-colonialism, neo-liberal, modernization, critical race theory, humanistic approach, written from the first-person narrative, included interviews, etc.), and whether the argument is persuasive.
The second paragraph should summarize the major significance of this text to the fields you have identified above. What research gaps or perspectives is it filling? What new approaches, considerations or perspectives does (did) it offer? What aspects of it do you find particularly useful as it connects to the theme? Are there any critiques that you would make of the work?
You may include relevant quotes from the text in addition to the 2 paragraphs of your own writing, but make sure to enclose the passage in quotation marks, double-check the accuracy of the quotes, and include the correct page numbers.
