Week 7 of the World History Discussion
Each week, we’ll focus on a specific time period in our history. Despite the fact that these are our forefathers, it will appear as if we are studying a faraway planet populated by people who have the oddest of behaviors. Fortunately, the people we’re watching provide us a lot of information about themselves. Their writing, art, and technology, as well as the way they conduct business and govern themselves, all contribute to a picture we’ll try to build for ourselves each week. Knowing who they were will assist us to know who we are.
Every week, you’ll be given three or four questions based on the materials provided in the question, the textbook, the lectures, the additional materials offered, and my remarks in my Live Session. You pick one and respond with a 125-word or longer response. You must also respond to another post made by one of your classmates. This second post should be at least 60 words long and not simply agree or rehash what has already been expressed.
Please provide an example that has not been discussed previously.

5. On page 1166 of your book, you have an amazing piece on the early days of film. Compare and contrast a woman working in cinema at the time with your favorite woman working in film today. Actors, directors, and producers are all good examples. Who was it that made a difference? Who is the one who is making a difference? What has and what can film do to capture and represent the era in which it is produced?
How to Use Discussion Boards to Improve Your GradeWith the first week of Discussion Boards ahead of us, it’s a good idea to take a breather and think before continuing. You are doing yourself a disservice if you merely look at the score and then move on. To avoid the same thing happening week after week, read the feedback and consider why you lost points.
Here are a few common blunders to stay away from:
I don’t write enough. This is a class on writing. You must study and listen to the materials, assess them, and write a clear response that covers the topic and responds to the questions. Because these are not short-answer questions, use whole sentences. You may need to conduct additional research.
At the end of the first post, cite your sources. Never copy and paste information from the internet. We only want to see your ideas, not those of others. Cite someone else if you describe their opinions or use a direct quote. Long quotations should not be used in assignments of this length. The maximum is a brief sentence.
If all you write to your classmates is “Great post!” and “I agree with you!” you will not receive any points. Read their blogs to see if there’s anything you can remark on. You can agree or disagree, but you must back up your claims with proof. It’s also crucial to consider the length in this case. Say something fascinating that has something to do with the topic. If you use outside sources, make sure to cite them.
Make sure your comments are well-organized, relevant to the topic, and logical.
Check your grammar, spelling, and sentence structure, among other things. As a college student, you should avoid making blunders in these areas of your writing. When they’re all there, go over everything again and figure out why you made the error so you don’t make it again.
Re-read and revise your post after you’ve finished it before posting it. You submit your best work for grading. Grading should not be viewed as an editing service, but rather as a validation of your efforts. You’re not finished yet, and you shouldn’t upload anything until you’ve double-checked your work for problems.
As a southerner, I tell myself all the time…
You cannot write in the same manner as you speak. Use a formal tone of speech with proper language and diction. To be honest, I was born a redneck, but I try hard in my writing to keep it hidden. Writing well will become one of the most valuable abilities you can acquire, but it will take time and effort.
Throughout the week, try to check in with and respond to your peers. Also, take a look at my responses to your classmates. You’ll find that the responses’ give and take will greatly enhance your comprehension.
Hopefully, these ideas will be beneficial. After the grades are posted each week, repeat the process. It’s all about getting better all the time. I often argue that there is no such thing as a finish line in writing for any of us. Throughout our lives, we will strive to improve. Mike, Dr.
