Instructions for the First Post
Part 1: Research and Analysis
Look for a medical, health-care facility, or communal-health advertisement on the internet. Drugs (prescription or over-the-counter), therapies, and medical gadgets may be advertised in medical advertisements. You might also come across an advertisement for a local health center. You might also come across an advertisement highlighting a public health issue, such as drunk driving, homelessness, or correctly strapping children in car seats. Weeks 3 and 4 should ideally be spent working on your selected topic, but if you can’t locate one, choose one that piques your curiosity.
Part 2: Implementation
Examine your chosen advertisement using the four appeals taught this week: logos, pathos, ethos, and kairos.
Identify an example of each in your advertisement and explain how each appeal attempts to influence the viewer.
If there isn’t an appeal, talk about how its lack affects the ad’s overall persuasiveness.
Finally, give your opinion on the ad’s overall efficacy.

Instructions for a Follow-Up Post
At least two peers, or one peer and the instructor, should be addressed. Consider the following:
Compare your findings to those of your colleagues when it comes to the ad’s efficacy.
Who do you believe the target demographic for your peer’s ad would be? What is the reason for this?
Consider how the ad could be made more effective.
Was the ad deceptive or supportive to you?
Who stands to gain from the advertisement?
Note: If you notice that someone has already received feedback from two peers, opt to assist someone who has not yet received feedback.
Requirements for Writing
A minimum of three postings is required (1 initial & 2 follow-up)
Initial Post Length: 3 college-level paragraphs minimum
For in-text citations and a list of references, use the APA format.
