WA1 Final Revision & Reflection Writing Assignment
Description / paper instructions
The file is my paper with the feedback.
These are the instructions.
Review your feedback on Writing Assignment 1 by going back to the drop box (see the Instructions for Finding Assignment Feedback if you need a refresher on how to do it). Then, revise your Writing Assignment 1 by adding the following strategies and accomplishing the following tasks:
Use goodwill building (10 pts)
Emphasize reader benefits (10 pts)
Write with positive emphasis (10 pts)
Use Standard Style for Printed Documents and correct memo format (10 pts)
Incorporate informative, parallel, outcome-based headings that “tell the story” of what follows in the text (10 pts)
Incorporate one concrete image as a way of motivating the reader to adopt your suggestions (10 pts)
Motivate a specific action in the closing, with a clear path for compliance (10 pts)
Address any problems with Red Level Strategies mentioned in the feedback on WA1 (5 pts)
Correct any problems with overall professionalism, including grammatical, mechanical, stylistic, or clarity errors — many of them have been marked for you, but please don’t rely solely on these comments. (5 pts)
Then, on a separate page of your document after your revised WA1 memo, copy and paste the following questions and answer each of them in at least one well-developed paragraph. (20 pts)What changes have you made to your WA1 based on the Revision instructions and provided feedback, and how have these changes helped your memo become a more professional document?
Discuss what you believe are the most important things you’ve learned this semester in Professional Writing, and provide one specific example of how you’ll use what you’ve learned in your current or future professional career. Please avoid regurgitating all of the strategies; offer meaningful reflection on your progress this semester.
The WA1 Final Revision & Reflection will be graded independently from your Writing Assignment 1; the checklist above will be used as the rubric. As such, a high grade on WA1 does not guarantee a high grade on the Revision. Because you’re being asked to apply new strategies here, your Revision should be a noticeable improvement over your original assignment. Attempts to pass off your previous draft as a revision will receive a zero.
