Spiritual Growth is being discussed.
“There is a growing corpus of literature produced largely for health professionals and more recently for social workers about the significance of developing and combining cultural and spiritual sensitivity and understanding in their work with others,” said Furness and Gilligan (2010). (p. 2187). Spirituality, which may or may not be associated with a recognized religion, contributes to human diversity and has an impact on human behavior. Spirituality can have a significant impact on a person’s social milieu. As a social worker, being aware of a client’s spirituality might help you better understand him or her and their needs.
Your appreciation of diversity is reflected in your sensitivity to and regard for your client’s spiritual dimension. You must consider how your faith might influence your relationships with a client as you consider the potential impact of your clients’ spirituality on their perceptions and behavior.
You will discuss the impact of spirituality on your interactions with clients in this Discussion.
On Day 3,
Create a Discussion in which you describe how your relationships with clients may be influenced by thoughts about their worldviews, such as their spirituality or religious beliefs. At least two concrete instances are required. Explain how your personal faith or religious convictions could help you work with a client, as well as how they might be a hindrance. Finally, offer one approach for incorporating spiritual awareness into social work practice in general.
